Why celebrate Sharad Poornima(kojagiri )

Sharad poornima falls mostly in October in Sharad ritu.
In this ritu Pitta dosha prakoop (imbalanced) is natural.

The moon on this Poornima is the strongest to its healing properties.
According to Ayurveda any medicines or food kept in this moonlight and then consumed increases its benefits and calms down the Pitta dosha.

Masale dudh (milk) is an age old drink taken on this auspicious night to balance body n mind.

Recipie:
In an earthern pot boil 1 litre cows milk. Add 3 cardamon powder, 1clove, 1/4th nutmeg powder, 1/2 inch Dalchini, 1/2 tsp soonth powder and 100grms rock sugar.
Keep it to cool down. When lukewarm drain and add 15 strands of kesar to it.
Keep this milk pot in a place where moonlight falls on this milk completely n directly for 3 to 4 hrs.
At midnight of Sharad poornima have sips of this milk with ur friends, chilling on good clasical music n chit- chatting on good positive topics.
All the above things (masale dudh, music, good company n thoughts) balances Pitta n mind.

For people with Asthama or chronic cold n cough, Ayurvedic formulations r added to this milk,as moonlight increases the efficacy of medicines.
